2009

 MDT was founded in Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada by Davis McGregor and Jesse Duncan. Led by many years of experience in software and high speed automation in the wood products industry, McGregor and Duncan quickly realized an opportunity for an easy to use, touch screen data acquisition software and hardware package.

2010

 MDT moved from McGregor’s garage into a small shop, hired some electronics techs and a VP of Sales & Marketing. The company’s initial service area was Western Canada and the North Slope of Alaska.

2011

MDT lands their first major contract in Texas.

2012

         MDT opened their first satellite service center in The Woodlands, Texas in to enhance customer service to the growing US customer base.

2012

MDT expanded their product offering to include controls for frac pumps, blenders, hydration units and chemical units.

2013

MDT is recognized by Alberta Venture magazine as one of the 50 fastest growing companies in Alberta.

2013

Mobile Data Technologies is recognized by Profit magazine as one of Canada’s hottest start-ups.

2013

MDT is acquired by C&J Energy Services out of Houston.

2014

The company opens a new software office in Acheson and a new         service center in Houston.

2015

MDT partners with Medco to sell FACT and TAS software for coil units.

2016

MDT creates a new data acquisition hardware solution for coil units (mCTU) and MDT partners with Stimline to sell IDEX software for coil units.

2016

               MDT successfully deploys its first complete frac fleet, featuring both pumps and backside equipment

2017

MDT relocates to a new office in Edmonton while C&J Energy Services acquires Raptor Controls and integrates the product into MDT.

2017

C&J Energy Services and Keane merge to form NexTier

2019

          MDT introduces the MDT Cloud allowing customers to remotely monitor operations and equipment

2022

MDT introduces controls for electric fleets

2023

       Nextier merger with Patterson UTI and additional of Universal Pressure Pumping fleets

2024

MDT Pump Controls solidifies its position as the premier provider of     pump control solutions across North America, significantly expanding        its footprint in the industry
